About Our Client

Our client, a prominent player in the Insurance sector, seeks a seasoned Senior Accounting Policy Consultant to strengthen their Finance department. This reputable organization prides itself on fostering an environment where professionals can flourish while contributing to innovative financial strategies that support the company's growth and compliance in the competitive market.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continually update the accounting policies to comply with changes in statutory regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Oversight and responsibility for all statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all financial regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation on accounting matters that could affect financial reports or business decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal audit teams to ensure adherence to accounting policy standards.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of unusual or complex accounting transactions to ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Educate and train finance department staff on current and new accounting standards.

Key Skills

  • Profound knowledge and expertise in statutory reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606, Insurance specific Accounting US-GAAP & Statutory Reporting standards.
  • Ability to analyze and advise internal stakeholders on key accounting decisions to accomadate for technical accounting changes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively navigate complex accounting scenarios.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, necessary for explaining complex financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage and train teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
