Actuarial Consultant (Pricing/Annuities)

This is where you will work

Our client is one of the largest pension insurers in the Netherlands. With their brands they ensure the financial security of their customers, so they don't have to worry when they retire or start something new. They invest in a culture that brings out the best version of themselves. Every day they strive to: Get the most out of yourself (and bring out the best in others), Stand for what you do (and do what you stand for), Go for the best (and make better what is good), Focus on results (because results give direction). They work together in and on an inclusive work environment where everyone can accelerate in their performance. And based on responsibility and trust: you manage a healthy work-life balance that suits you and your team best to achieve your team results.

This are your responsibilities

As a (Senior) Actuarial Consultant, you are a driven professional who aims to improve the profitability of their products through analysis and advice. You understand that the pension market is changing and have a vision of how our client can respond with its products. You oversee the market and direct the pricing strategy for your products, taking into account commercial interests and technical possibilities. You act as an internal consultant, providing advice and guidance on product pricing, target customer groups, and the development of new products.

As a Senior Actuarial Consultant, you are responsible for optimizing the pricing of one of our product groups. You are a professional that has experience within the actuarial field and a specialist in pensions. You use actuarial models in C# as the basis for your analysis and advice. You advise the management of Buy-Outs, sales, and products on products, calculations, and commercial decisions.

You are a true team player and the go-to person for less experienced colleagues on functional and tactical subjects. Additionally, you can work independently and advise and inform Senior Management based on analyses.

  • Product Pricing: Determining a pricing policy (including the steps involved) for their (non-)selling products that are actuarially sound, with a price that is the optimum between value and volume.
  • Advisor/Consultant: Advising senior management on the correct commercial price and the right product-market combinations to find the optimal price-volume/profit ratio. This is based on insights from models and actuarial and customer-focused research in internal and external data.
  • Portfolio Management: Optimizing the value of the existing customer base by improving the actuarial assumptions used for portfolio management.
  • Business Support (Buy-out / Sales Support): Advising Sales and the Buy-out department with cost price calculations and profitability analyses. Additionally, advising and supporting the business and management on pricing issues.
