Our client, a long standing Insurance Company based out of Chicago, is looking to add a Business Development Manager to their team.

If you are an experienced sales representative or business development manager who has worked in life insurance and annuities products and would like to take the next step in your career, we would like to speak with you!

The Business Development Manager will work very closely with the Sales Manager and CEO to recruit, onboard, support, and retain new independent producers and general agencies. This role will be the primary internal liaison between agent and agency partners, sales and new business departments to build relationships and to ensure a positive experience. This role requires an advanced knowledge of life insurance and annuity products, as well as familiarity in sales and marketing strategies used in the life insurance industry.

Compensation: Base pay $50,000 - $60,000 + Commission

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of insurance sales experience
  • Licensed Insurance Agent
  • Ability to communicate articulately and clearly with agents and members
  • Knowledge of Word Processing and Spreadsheet Software
  • Ability to Travel
  • Ability to be in office in Schaumburg Illinois on a hybrid or fully in-person schedule

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities with independent life agents/agencies through calls, networking, and events, while meeting recruitment goals.
  • Provide sales presentations, quotes, and applications to prospective and existing agents, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Manage relationships with producers, assist with premium quotes, and support producer requests to enhance client relationships and drive retention.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (new business, customer care, marketing) to improve sales strategies and gather feedback for new product development.
  • Meet sales and retention goals, providing next steps if targets are not met; maintain salesforce reports.
  • Assist in training new employees, developing products, and attending seminars to stay informed on industry trends and opportunities.
