Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and Implement AWS Solutions: Design, implement, and maintain foundational data solutions using AWS frameworks, collaborating closely with middleware chapter members and software architects.

  • Support Data Use Cases: Develop and maintain AWS-based solutions to support various use cases for the Application Data Hub, catering to the needs of Data Engineers and Data Scientists.

  • Collaborate on Architectural Integrity: Work in tandem with Software Architects to ensure the architectural integrity of applications, guaranteeing high-quality code delivery by the team.

  • Integrate AWS Data Flows: Ensure seamless integration of AWS data flows with other components within our landscape, optimizing the AWS framework for data domain use.

  • Enhance Databricks Integration: Leverage Databricks for advanced data engineering, enabling efficient data processing, machine learning model development, and real-time analytic.

  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek to enhance the use of AWS and Databricks frameworks, staying abreast of new features and best practices to improve data management and analytics capabilities.

Skills and Competencies

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent solid experience.

  • AWS Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in AWS Cloud services and managed offerings such as Athena, Glue, Redshift, Sagemaker, AppFlow, Lake Formation, and Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow.

  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts and modern table formats like Hudi, Iceberg, and Delta Lake, along with schema evolution best practices for data lakes.

  • Databricks Proficiency: Experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics, including integration with AWS services.

  • DevOps and Development Mindset: Strong DevOps orientation and affinity for software development, with a customer-oriented and solution-minded approach.

  • Language Skills: Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good understanding of English.
