We are partnering with a leading banking and financial services client in their search for a Director of Security Engineering to join their growing team. This is a critical leadership role where you will spearhead the design, implementation, and management of cutting-edge security solutions to protect the bank's systems, infrastructure, and data in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a high-performing security engineering team, driving strategy and execution of security initiatives.
- Develop and implement robust security architectures, controls, and processes to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across IT, risk, compliance, and operations to align security efforts with business goals and objectives.
- Champion a security-first culture across the organization, promoting awareness and best practices in secure development and operational excellence.
- Oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide security frameworks, including vulnerability management, incident response, encryption, and data protection.
- Stay ahead of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, advising the business on innovative security solutions.
- Report regularly to senior leadership, providing clear insights on risk mitigation, security posture, and overall program effectiveness.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior security engineering role, preferably within the banking, financial services, or highly regulated sectors.
- Strong knowledge of security architectures, tools, and technologies, with expertise in threat detection, prevention, and response.
- Deep understanding of industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
- Leadership experience, managing and mentoring cross-functional security teams, and driving transformation within an enterprise security environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA would be advantageous.
