We are currently seeking a Fund Controller to join the finance team of a US based asset manager with approximately $6bn AUM. The current team is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our funds.
Key responsibilities within the role include:
- Fund Accounting Oversight: Manage and review fund accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee quarterly and annual financial statements for the funds, ensuring compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
- Valuation Oversight: Collaborate with portfolio managers and external valuation experts to ensure the accuracy of asset valuations.
- Audit Management: Coordinate with external auditors to support the year-end audit process.
- Investor Reporting: Provide detailed and transparent reporting to investors, including performance analysis and fund metrics.
- Compliance & Regulatory Filings: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and manage filings with the SEC, tax authorities, and other regulators as required.
- Cash Management: Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and capital calls/distributions.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to operational processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in fund operations.
To be considered for this role our client is seeking an individual who can closely align with the below qualification / experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CFA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, or related roles within asset management, preferably within private equity, or real estate funds.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Total Compensation being offered for this position will range from $180-250K. Final remuneration package will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
