Overview:
- Underwrites intermediate-level group insurance applications- Authorized to approve cases with up to 3,000 lives.
- Work Location: Flexible (100% remote or hybrid work at major office locations).
The Role:
- Assess risk for group insurance products.
- Analyze data (client financials, employee group characteristics, participation rates, industry type, past claims) to determine benefits and rates.
- Oversee underwriting processes for proposals, new cases, renewals, and amendments.
- Build and maintain relationships with field personnel and clients.
- Justify and communicate underwriting decisions.
- Document and relay decisions to relevant areas within the division.
- Help drive division profitability by analyzing client profitability and product line performance.
Knowledge & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years of experience in group life and disability underwriting.
