IT Infrastructure Analyst - 1st / 2nd line, Cisco, Azure

I am currently working with a leading London Market Re-insurer in the Property & Casualty space who are looking for a strong IT Infrastructure Analyst to join their expanding team in a brand new role. This role will be supporting the senior engineers and reporting directly into the IT Lead, you will be working with a globally distributed support and operations team that hold responsibility for providing 1st & 2nd line support for all infrastructure platforms, including; desktop workstations; VDI; telephony; audiovisual equipment; and server hardware (locally and remote branch offices).
Key responsibilities:
- 1st & 2nd line support - Troubleshooting; Desktop; VDI; telephony; audiovisual; servers
- Quickly provide technical assistance to active requests - installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, patching and updating all IT hardware and equipment
- Utilise JIRA to track issues on platforms through the support life-cycle
- Monitor and provide support for global systems, network links, virtualized platforms, and application health through Orion dashboards
- Provide out-of-hours emergency support on important infrastructure issues / user requests
- Creation and deployment of Windows application packaged through an application management platform (Altiris, Intune)
- Provide user training and IT system inductions during staff onboarding and later upgrade training
- Challenge the status quo of infrastructure systems and platforms while looking for innovation opportunities in both tactical and strategic ways
- Provide support to Application Development teams on infrastructure issues affecting either vendor provided and/or proprietary software
Key qualifications and skills:
- VMware, Linux, or Microsoft certification(s) - Desired
- CCNA or relevant networking experience - Desired
- 3+ years' experience supporting a multi-vendor environment including Linux / VMware / Microsoft products
- 3+ years' experience in Server and desktop hardware monitoring and support
- Experienced working with Microsoft Operating Systems, - W10, 11, Server, 2012, 2016, 2019 and newer
- Experience managing a Cloud based environment - Azure experience
- Experience with Microsoft directory services; Active Directory, Group Policy, AGPM, DNS & DHCP.
- Knowledge and experience of one of the following virtualisation platforms: Citrix XenApp/Xen Desktop; VMWare vSphere, ESXi & Horizon View.
- Previously worked with collaboration tools such as Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive
- Ability to work in a change -controlled environment, with a view of regulatory and audit requirements & controls
