Job Opportunity: IT Platform Operations Analyst
We are delighted to partner with a leading client in the Financial Services, currently seeking to hire an experienced IT Platform Operations Analyst to join their growing Platform Operations Team. This is a permanent position on a fully remote basis.
Role and Responsibilities:
Monitor and Ensure Service Continuity: Continuously measure and assess the availability, latency, and overall health of live services to ensure operational uptime.
Collaborate for Rapid Issue Resolution: Work closely with team members to identify the root cause of service performance issues, proactively analyzing key signals for potential future problems.
Effective Communication: Communicate technical concerns effectively with external partners, third-party vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
Knowledge Sharing and Documentation: Leverage experience to create, revise, and enhance knowledge base articles for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Promote System Reliability: Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to ensure system reliability, prioritizing reliability as a foundational principle.
Anomaly Detection and Escalation: Detect and escalate potential problems found in application and system logs, ensuring issues are promptly addressed.
Deep Platform Knowledge: Gain comprehensive understanding of the platform and associated custom applications to swiftly resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
Create Alerts and Monitoring: Set up and manage new alerts that enhance the monitoring of production systems, ensuring immediate visibility of any potential problems.
Troubleshooting Scheduled Tasks: Investigate and resolve failures in scheduled jobs, ensuring consistent operation of automated tasks.
Refine Processes and Policies: Document and improve internal processes, policies, and procedures to drive operational efficiency and consistency.
Key Skillset:
Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field is typically expected.
Professional Experience: At least 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial technology sector, transaction processing, or a closely related field. Experience working with web-based platforms and understanding the interdependencies between networking, databases, and applications is beneficial.
Transaction Processing Knowledge: A solid grasp of transaction processing systems, payment systems, and associated technologies is highly valuable. Experience supporting real-time transaction processing systems is an added advantage.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in using and troubleshooting various monitoring tools for application performance, infrastructure monitoring, and log management, such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and SolarWinds. Familiarity with the Microsoft SQL Server environment is desirable. Experience with API integrations, data analysis, and reporting tools is also an advantage.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in fast-paced environments. Experience in problem management and conducting post-incident reviews to prevent recurring issues.
Risk Management Knowledge: Understanding of risk management, particularly in transaction processing, including knowledge of fraud detection and prevention strategies.
Commitment to Continuous Learning: A proactive attitude towards staying updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in financial technology and transaction processing.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP, load balancing, and web server configurations.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, specifically Azure
- Familiarity with scheduling systems like RunDeck.
