Lead Data Platform Engineer
Overview:
As a Lead Data Platform Engineer with a strong background in Software Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of data platforms and systems. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in Databricks, Big Data technologies (such as Hadoop and Spark), and engineering skills in Java, Spring, APIs, and Azure to build scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions. You will work closely with architects, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure that data infrastructure and platforms meet business needs and technical standards.
Skills:
- 10+ years experience in Software Engineering
- Extensive experience in Databricks.
- Expert knowledge of Java
- Knowledge of design patterns and software development best practices with a good understanding of microservices and technologies such as Spring boot.
- Experienced in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
- Experience with data warehouse and data lake concepts and architectures
- Experience with data integration and ELT / ELT tools, preferably Azure Data Factory
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with delegating & guiding the work of Jr and mid-level Engineers.

This is the perfect role for a Lead or Principal Engineer with experience in Data Engineer or a Lead Data Engineer with an extensive background in Java development. The ideal candidate will need excellent communication as they will be dealing with technical and non-technical people alike.
Please note - must be based in the Greater Dublin area and hold a minimum of a Stamp 4 Visa/ EU Passport to be eligible for this role.
