Seeking a sharp audit, assurance or accounting advisory candidate with three or more years experience at a Top 10 audit firm. This role is perfect for those looking to retain the excitement and challenge of high level audit work, without the constant deadlines and client side demands. Company is growing and extremely well capitalised. CPA preferred but not required.

Position Summary

The Manager Technical Accounting will have the opportunity to play a critical role in the growth of the business by working closely with the legal, actuarial, and corporate development teams, as well as with private equity stakeholders, to support the structuring of new reinsurance transactions, including the accounting for foreign reinsurance structures. This individual will also be highly engaged in industry developments and will lead adoption of new accounting guidance.

The successful candidate must be an approachable and influential individual who gains trust and confidence quickly through consensus building and who can operate effectively within a dynamic and evolving organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting guidance and input into the structuring of complex transactions, including new reinsurance agreements, capital transactions and acquisitions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including processes for new reinsurance agreements or acquisitions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest accounting standards and regulations and provide guidance on their implementation.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to address accounting-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with accounting principles.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm is required.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Integrity and ethical leadership, promoting a culture of accountability and professionalism within the team.
  • Proven track record in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and priorities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and MS Excel.
