Our manufacturing client is seeking a skilled and proactive IT/OT Engineer to join thier plant technology team. This pivotal role bridges the gap between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), ensuring the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of automation systems and network infrastructure across production environments. You'll play a key role in maintaining and evolving our control systems, servers, network hardware, and software to support 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage industrial control systems (e.g., DCS, PLCs), servers, workstations, and network devices across the production floor.
- Design, deploy, and maintain IT/OT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.
- Monitor system performance and implement upgrades and patches to improve stability and security.
- Collaborate across departments to align technology with business objectives and operational goals.
- Coordinate and execute technology rollouts and enhancements within OT environments.
- Maintain and enforce data security and compliance standards.
- Act as the technical lead on projects involving ERP/MES system integrations with OT environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide hands-on support during system incidents and outages-some after-hours availability may be required.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, staying up-to-date on the latest trends in OT and IT convergence.
- Assist with process automation improvements and ongoing performance tuning.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience with industrial automation platforms (DeltaV, Rockwell, Honeywell, or similar).
- Proven experience in managing and supporting IT and OT systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of process control systems, networking technologies, and cybersecurity principles.
- Solid foundation in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field-or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
- Familiarity with change management, incident response, and escalation protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with engineering, operations, and technology teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-demand setting.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable with a blend of independent and collaborative work.
- Previous experience in a 24/7 production support environment, including on-call rotation.
