Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This hybrid role is essential for processing accounting information, managing regulatory filings, and providing support across various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and committed to excellence in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual processing of accounting information for reporting requirements.
  • Address inquiries from management, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings and responses to external auditors and state examiners.
  • Generate various analytical reports required by management throughout the year.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of departmental responsibilities.
  • Support other accounting areas with issues and special projects.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and analyze statistical accounts for losses, premiums, reserves, and reinsurance.
  • Assist as the point of contact for managing interim and annual audits with external auditors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Skilled in analyzing, consolidating, and interpreting accounting data.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports and technical documents.
  • Experience in planning, assigning, and supervising the work of others.
