We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Claims Specialist to manage a diverse caseload of high-severity and complex commercial casualty claims. This role involves investigating, analyzing, and handling claims efficiently and fairly by assessing coverage, liability, and damages, and determining appropriate reserves. You will be responsible for negotiating settlements and facilitating the resolution of claims, including litigated cases. The caseload includes General Commercial Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Construction Defects, Toxic Tort, and Professional Liability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and manage high-severity, complex claims in a timely and thorough manner.
- Analyze coverage, liability, and damages to determine the appropriate resolution for each claim.
- Evaluate reserves for claims, ensuring they are set appropriately based on the progression of each case.
- Negotiate settlements or pursue alternative resolutions in a fair and equitable manner.
- Handle a diverse caseload of claims, including General Commercial Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Construction Defect, Toxic Tort, and Professional Liability.
- Manage litigated cases, collaborating with legal counsel to develop strategies and recommendations.
- Prepare and present case details for mediations, trials, and other legal proceedings as needed.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with policyholders, clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
- Travel within the designated territory to attend mediations, trials, and other meetings, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in handling complex commercial casualty claims.
- Strong knowledge of insurance coverage, liability, damages, and reserves within commercial casualty claims.
- Proven experience in handling litigated claims and effectively negotiating settlements.
- Expertise in managing a variety of claim types, including General Commercial Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Construction Defects, Toxic Tort, and Professional Liability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Willingness to travel as needed for mediations, trials, and meetings.
- Insurance certifications (CPCU, AIC, etc.) or similar qualifications preferred but not required.
