About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative team within an exciting long-term project. This role offers the opportunity to work on a critical application used by 12 countries across Europe, with a focus on migrating and optimizing the data to the cloud.
You will take on the role of technical lead, guiding a team of juniors and medior-level data professionals while collaborating with Azure specialists and other teams to ensure best practices and data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration of a Data Warehouse from an on-premises SQL Server to a cloud-based solution using Azure Databricks and Data Lake.
- Work with SAP Data Services to manage and optimize existing data flows, ensuring seamless integration with the data platform.
- Collaborate with Azure experts to align and implement best practices, standardize processes, and guide the team in platform optimization.
- Provide expertise in structuring and managing the Data Lake, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Participate in a 2-year project developing a cloud-based Data Warehouse for a large-scale logistics system.
- Address data segmentation challenges to ensure proper separation and management by country.
- Mentor and guide a team of data professionals, fostering collaboration and ensuring project alignment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong expertise in Azure Databricks and Data Lake management.
- Proficiency in SQL Server and experience working with SAP Data Services.
- Proven experience in migrating and optimizing Data Warehouses to cloud platforms.
- Technical leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Knowledge of best practices in data architecture, governance, and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and guide discussions on technical best practices.
- Languages : English, French is highly appreciated
