They specialise in innovative and high-performance solutions for the insurance sector and are in a position of growth - so they are looking to add a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview:
The team are looking for an experience Senior Oracle Database Administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Oracle database systems and optimising performance across critical projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in the success of the company, whilst genuinely contributing to the future of IT in the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the seamless and trouble-free operation of Oracle database systems.
Monitor and optimise database operations for performance and availability.
Lead Oracle migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
Further develop database architectures to meet business needs.
Manage and participate in projects within the database environment, taking over sub-project management responsibilities.
Apply patches to Oracle databases to maintain security and performance.
Drive process improvements related to database backup systems, GoldenGate, and other database optimisation tools.
Collaborate on automating database processes using tools such as Ansible and GIT.
Supervise apprentices and support junior database administrators in their training and development.
Ideal Background & Experience:
Strong knowledge of Oracle database technology and operation. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and experience with technologies such as Real Application Cluster, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate.
Strong analytical, methodical, and networked thinking skills. Ability to work independently and responsibly with a proactive approach.
Proficient in both German (B1) and English, with strong communication skills.
