Senior ServiceNow Developer - Platform

The Senior ServiceNow Platform Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and modules on the ServiceNow platform. This will primarily focus on ITSM, ITAM & ITOM to start, with a view to incorportate SPM & HRSD heading into 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow applications and modules, ensuring alignment with best practices and agile methodologies.
• Configure and enhance ServiceNow platform elements such as workflows, UI components, client scripts, business rules, catalog items, integrations, and orchestration.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate requirements, providing solutions that align with business objectives and platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, functionality, and security issues across ServiceNow applications and modules, implementing preventive measures.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and conduct code reviews to ensure high standards of quality and performance.
• Stay informed about the latest features and updates on the ServiceNow platform, applying new capabilities to improve both new and existing solutions.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation for the design, development, testing, and deployment processes, as well as configuration management and version control.
• Assist with design, planning, development, testing, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions across the platform.
• Guide stakeholders in determining when out-of-box functionality can meet their needs, advising on where customization is necessary.
• Offer high-level estimations for project tasks and break down work into features, epics, and stories, identifying technical challenges early on.
• Develop working demos and prototypes as necessary before full-scale deployment.
• Review existing implementations, recommending improvements to enhance platform operations and performance.

Skills Needed:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, Employee Center & SPM modules.
• Expertise in ServiceNow scripting languages, including Business Rules, UI Pages, UI Macros, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, XML, and JSON.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification desired but not essential.
• Proven ability to lead problem-solving efforts during mission-critical system interruptions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with business and technical stakeholders.
