Title: ServiceNow Developer - ITOM
Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in US)
Type: FTE, Direct Hire
Base Salary Range: $110-135k

As a ServiceNow ITOM Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and configuration of ITOM applications within the ServiceNow platform. This includes working on key modules such as Discovery, Event Management, Cloud Management, CMDB, Service Mapping, and Agent Client Collector. You will partner with both technical and business teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and ensure smooth deployment and operation of ITOM capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy ITOM applications and modules using ServiceNow best practices and agile methodologies.
  • Configure and enhance ServiceNow ITOM solutions, focusing on modules like Discovery, Event Management, CMDB, ACC, and Service Mapping.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze and validate requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and platform capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and functionality issues within ITOM modules and MID Servers.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Stay current with the latest ServiceNow features and industry trends, incorporating them into your solutions.
  • Document development processes, ensuring proper version control and maintaining clear configuration management practices.
  • Offer guidance on using out-of-box functionality and provide feedback on customization needs.
  • Assist in breaking down large projects into features, epics, and stories, providing high-level estimations.
  • Create demos and prototypes when necessary before full-scale deployment.
  • Review existing implementations and suggest improvements to enhance the performance and efficiency of ITOM solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application systems development or administration, with at least 3 years focused on ServiceNow ITOM applications.
  • Proficiency in at least two scripting languages used in production environments, such as JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, Perl, or similar.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide others toward achieving high system availability and integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in mission-critical situations.
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in application, infrastructure, and database architecture, including knowledge of distributed systems and networking.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or certification in Discovery, Event Management, Cloud Management, or Service Mapping.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform, specifically with ITOM modules.
  • Expertise in creating and configuring patterns, Discovery Schedules, probes, sensors, and Event rules, as well as managing MID Servers.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow ITOM modules with enterprise monitoring tools and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with CSDM (Common Service Data Model) for enterprise service mapping and CMDB relationships.
