In Belgium, with offices in Brussels and Antwerp and more than 95 experienced colleagues, they focus on several branches including fire, liability, technical insurance, and transport, alongside various specialized products.
As part of their Casualty department, the company is currently looking for a Senior Underwriter Liability to develop and manage a portfolio of national and international clients. This role will focus on maintaining profitability and managing complex liability cases, with the opportunity to work on innovative insurance products such as Cyber risk solutions.
Function
As a Senior Underwriter Liability, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing a portfolio of liability insurance policies for national and international clients.
- Analyzing and assessing risks, and making proactive technical-commercial decisions based on underwriting powers.
- Drafting proposals and maintaining profitable renewals of existing policies.
- Managing tenders, preparing offers, and leading the tender process from request to completion.
- Serving as the primary contact for assigned portfolios, maintaining proactive relationships with clients and brokers.
- Reporting complex cases to management and participating in internal meetings.
- Entering data and ensuring the proper administration of policies and risk information in various systems.
- Contributing to internal studies and working groups for new projects and products.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience as an underwriter in Liability or Cyber Insurance.
- Strong commercial sense, strategic vision, and high level of responsibility.
- Analytical skills, out-of-the-box thinking, and a customer-centric approach to providing tailored insurance solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in Dutch and English (French is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and common IT tools.
