Vice President, Financial Reporting

Overview:

Oliver James is proud to be supporting a new E&S Insurance Carrier + Program Administration with the appointment of a Senior Finance Leader within their organisation. With the appointment of a new CFO, the Finance Team is continuing to build across a number of Divisions. This role is unique as it focuses on Financial Reporting and Financial Accounting for the E&S Carrier plus FP&A + Board Reporting.

Location:

This role is remote with periodic travel.

Compensation:

180-210k base salary + bonus + LTIP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and submission of statutory and GAAP financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, aligning capital allocation with business strategy.

  • Develop and implement financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.

  • Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights that guide business strategy.

  • Manage risk-based capital (RBC) reporting, ORSA analysis, and tax compliance.

  • Lead a high-performing team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in statutory financial reporting within the insurance or reinsurance industry.

  • Expertise in GAAP and STAT accounting principles, including financial statement preparation and regulatory filings.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and scenario analysis.

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing finance teams and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Knowledge of reinsurance structures, capital management, and industry reporting standards.

  • CPA, CPCU, or progress toward certification is preferred.
