Oliver James is seeking a Data Analyst BI for various roles, with strong capabilities.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in data analysis and visual report creation to support strategic decision-making within the company. You will be an integral part of a dedicated data analysis team focused on transforming data into actionable insights, thus contributing to continuous operational improvement and informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis:
    • Collect, clean, and structure data from various internal and external sources.
    • Identify significant trends, patterns, and meaningful insights from the data.
    • Perform statistical analyses to uncover relevant information.
  2. Report Creation:
    • Design and develop interactive dashboards and impactful visualisations using Cognos, Excel or Power BI.
    • Generate customized reports tailored to different internal and external audiences.
    • Ensure the usability and user-friendliness of created reports.
  3. Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Work closely with business teams to understand their data analysis needs.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and effective data visualizations.
  4. Process Optimization:
    • Participate in identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement in data processing and analysis.
    • Formulate recommendations to optimize existing processes based on the conducted analyses.
  5. Training and Support:
    • Provide internal users with training on the usage of Cognos reports.
    • Offer technical assistance to resolve issues related to Cognos and data.

Requirements:

  • Master degree in statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • 2 years of proven experience in data analysis and report creation using Cognos, Excel or Power BI
  • Strong skills in data manipulation and modeling.
  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualisation and user experience.
  • Proficiency in query languages such as SQL.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
