Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing Managing General Agency (MGA) expanding across the US and specialising in risk solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our team and lead our finance department. The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the financial operations. This position reports directly into the CEO.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to facilitate informed decision-making by the executive team.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and executive leadership. Monitor financial performance against budgetary targets and provide variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.

  • Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement best practices for financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.

  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives. Monitor banking activities and reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.

  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate external audits and examinations by regulatory agencies. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and ensure timely completion of audit procedures.

  • Team Leadership: Grow a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide guidance and support to help team members achieve their goals and excel in their roles.
