About the Role:

Proficiency in virtualization and load balancers is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation:
- Architect and deploy robust network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless).
- Ensure network performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Utilize network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Security Management:
- Develop and enforce network security policies.
- Implement and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Virtualization:
- Manage virtual environments using VMware and Proxmox.
- Optimize virtualization for resource efficiency and high availability.
- Troubleshoot virtualization issues.
Load Balancing:
- Implement and manage load balancers like HAProxy.
- Configure load balancing for high availability and performance.
- Monitor and adjust load balancer performance.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Diagnose and resolve network, security, and virtualization issues.
- Support network-related incidents and changes.
- Perform root cause analysis and preventive measures.
Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with security threats, trends, and technologies.
- Implement best practices for network, security, and virtualization.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and security policies.
- Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance.
- Provide input for capacity planning.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Collaborate with IT team members, developers, and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Report to the Infrastructure Team Leader.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Relevant experience considered.
Experience:
- 3+ years in network and security engineering.
- Proven network design, implementation, and management skills.
- Strong background in network security and firewall management.
- Extensive experience with VMware and Proxmox.
- Expertise in HAProxy load balancing.
Skills:
- Proficient in network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (Wireshark, Zabbix).
- Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell).
- Linux/Windows expertise is a plus.
Certifications:
- Desired certifications: CCNP, CISSP, CEH, VCP, CompTIA Security+.
