We seek a health insurance project manager with a strong consulting background (ideally from a Big 4 firm) and extensive domain expertise in health insurance. This is an exciting opportunity to work on dynamic, versatile projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Role Summary
As the Health Insurance Project Manager, you will drive and manage end-to-end project lifecycles within the health insurance domain. You'll work closely with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. Your consulting experience will be critical in identifying opportunities, solving complex challenges, and implementing tailored solutions.
You'll lead projects in areas such as health insurance operations, regulatory compliance, technology implementation, process optimization, and strategy development. Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Create and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Health Insurance Expertise:
- Provide subject matter expertise in health insurance, including underwriting, claims management, provider networks, member services, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay up-to-date on health insurance industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform project direction.
Consulting and Strategic Guidance:
- Leverage a consulting mindset to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend tailored solutions.
- Conduct detailed assessments, develop business cases, and present actionable insights to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients to create and execute strategic roadmaps that drive business value.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, executives, and cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating thought leadership and strategic vision.
Team Leadership:
- Lead project teams, providing clear direction, mentorship, and support.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on health insurance or healthcare-related projects.
- Extensive consulting experience, ideally with one of the Big 4 consulting firms (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) or a similar top-tier firm.
- Deep knowledge of the health insurance domain, including business processes, operational challenges, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic and analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
- Experience with health insurance technologies (e.g., claims management systems, policy administration platforms).
- Familiarity with healthcare data analytics and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in health insurance, such as value-based care, digital transformation, and consumer-centric models.
