Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite)

Salary: $120,000-$140,000

As a Data Engineer, you will specialize in designing, implementing, and optimizing database systems that ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and management of structured data. Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Agile Program Manager, Digital Product Manager, and Business Systems Analyst) to capture stakeholder requests and translate them into engineering deliverables, such as design specifications, source code, and test scripts.
- Lead architecture and design discussions, providing guidance and expertise throughout the process.
- Mentor junior developers and support their growth during project execution.
- Collaborate with software architects and senior engineers to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and best software development practices.
- Contribute to Agile teams by actively participating in application design, coding, code reviews, and testing.
- Offer innovative solutions and suggestions to stakeholders to improve project and program efficiency.
- Manage engineering risks by tracking and communicating issues while proactively identifying solutions.
- Coordinate with other project teams to resolve interdependencies and technical challenges.
- Support business units by addressing user questions and issues in accordance with production support processes and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in software engineering.
- Provide input to the Product Roadmap and contribute to high-level estimates with the Agile Program Manager and Digital Product Manager.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to establish documentation standards, processes, and templates for engineering artifacts.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts and modeling techniques, such as DVM and Kimball.
- Experience in cloud data architecture supporting advanced analytics (e.g., Snowflake, Azure).
- 5-7 years of experience in developing reports, particularly with Power BI.
- 5-7 years of experience with ETL processes using SSIS or similar technologies.
- Expertise in SQL and hands-on experience with structured and semi-structured databases like SQL Server, DB2, and MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience administering Cognos (installation, configuration, security setup, and scheduling) and Power BI (gateway installation, configuration, and connection setup).
