Our client, a leading Private Equity asset manager, is looking for a Controller to join their growing fund accounting team and assist in building out there Private Credit arm. Our client works on a hybrid model in downtown Chicago. Compensation is competitive and there are comprehensive health, PTO and retirement benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Management of quarterly and yearly close processes with a focus on cash transaction, asset valuation, and performance reporting.
- Collaboration across internal and external teams, including fund administrators, brokers, and other custodians.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders about portfolio management, composition, investments, and fund structure.
- Responsible for reporting needs relating to capital calls, distributions, fund cash flow, and management processes.
- Manage and develop internal accounting and finance team members through mentorship, review of calculations, and performance reviews.
- Assist in special projects and support on ad-hoc requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA is a plus
- At least 5 years of experience in financial service industry with specialisation in private equity, private credit, hedge fund, fund of funds and venture capital funds
- Background including Public Accounting is preferred
- Experience managing direct reports is necessary
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
